Crazy about Goldflies lol .
Fullview for improved sharpness - though the image might not get much bigger, but it won't go through dA's resampling algorithm.
Called Goldfly in germany. A pretty name for an insect usually referred to as "Poo-House Fly" xD .
But it seems to make for a very good photo model, because of the contrast between body and eyes. Also the features between those eyes draw attention.
I managed to switch from a 135 mm lens to a 50 mm lens. Latter one yields better magnification while yo need to get much closer. It's barey possible to do with such a fly, but I managed to anaesthetise it with alcohol. I can't harm a fly and I was shocked when in one moment the fly was barely affected and seconds later it played possum. It mus have taken a nip from the alkohol drenched tissue in her box. I thought I killed it
. Anyway I wanted it's death no to be for nothing, so I began shooting it. About one hour later it very slowly came to life again!
